  • 1/2 Cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 Cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 Teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/3 Cup coconut milk
  • 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 Cup shredded coconut, plus more for serving
  • 1/4 Cup Nutella
  • Cooking spray
  • 1/2 Cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 Cup cocoa powder
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, 1/3 cup of the coconut milk, oil, vanilla extract, and coconut. Whisk until smooth and then stir in the Nutella.

Spray a 3-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Pour in the batter. Mix the sugar and cocoa powder together and sprinkle on top of the batter in the slow cooker. In a small pot, bring the remaining coconut milk to a boil and pour over the batter in the slow cooker; do not stir.

Cover with the lid and cook on high for 1 ½-3 hours (depending how hot your slow cooker cooks and how big of a slow cooker you use). Scoop out cake into individual bowls and drizzle with the chocolate sauce. Top with additional coconut, if desired. Serve with vanilla ice cream.

Slow Cooker Chocolate Pudding Cake

My family absolutely loves this recipe. Since cream and milk doesn't agree with my children, we have substituted coconut milk (the canned version) for the cream and cashew milk for the milk and it turned out fabulous.

Very good! will try again for sure. it does make a lot. how long can this keep? can i freeze some of it? or make a smaller one by cutting the recipe in half? or would this require some adjustments? thanks!

Hi Michelle, this cake is better keep in the fridge after first service. It freezes well too. In both cases, reheat a bit before eating. Cut the recipe would be hard to get the same result (or if you have a smaller slow cooker). Have a nice day!

Why can’t I see other people’s comments? That is what makes other recipes sites so informative and useful! I have 3 slow cookers already, I am not going to buy a Ricardo slow cooker. But I WOULD like to know what size of cooker I should use! That the recipe does not specify this is annoying.

Slow-Cooker Cakes

Slow cookers are a great way to get dinner on the table with minimal fuss and mess. We&rsquore especially fond of using them for super tender meat preparations: pork shoulder, chicken thighs, and beef brisket do especially well when cooked low, slow, and undisturbed.

But have you ever tried baking in your slow cooker? We came up with six delicious ways to work the sweet side of your machine. Sure, you could make similar versions in the oven, but the slow cooker provides a slow (duh) even heat that, for some cakes, is far superior than the traditional oven treatment. Our Slow Cooker Cheesecake, for example, sets up with a delectable custard-like texture, no water bath required. And we suggest scooping the Chocolate Pudding Cake straight from slow cooker to dessert dish. Get the ice cream ready.

There are a couple of key things to keep in mind when you&rsquore assembling these magic cakes. A few of them require a homemade rack that prevents the cake vessel from sitting directly on the bottom of the insert. Rather than have you special-order a custom rack, we coiled up some foil and used that to give the cake pans some breathing room. (This handy trick works if you need to make a homemade steamer basket as well).

These cakes all get baked with a towel pulled taught underneath the lid. The cakes will naturally create steam while they bake and the towel absorbs the droplets of condensation so they don&rsquot drip back on to the cake and blemish the top. However, in the event that you happen to use an industrial-strength detergent, you may want to use something milder. We tried one cheesecake that tasted an awful lot like Mountain Fresh Breeze.

Slow Cooker Coconut Cake Recipe

I love dessert. Sometimes I wish I could just skip the boring part of the app and entree and dive straight into the good part..Perks of having a sweet tooth ). This Slow Cooker Coconut Cake is sinfully delicious, silky and exotic.

If you’ve never baked in your slow cooker, it’s a great recipe to start out. The perk of this cooking method is that it does not need babysitting. Dump the batter into the machine and go on about your day. Which is exactly what I did yesterday.

My oldest daughter had a playdate, the other one had early release and we had to do evening errands while my cake was baking. For those of you that do not own a crock pot, this Coconut Cake Recipe can also be baked in the oven. I decided to slow cook mine because I wanted to show off this alternative technique.

My mother actually send in this recipe last week.. Her note read: “This cake is called Atrapa Marido or Husband Catcher in English. Please make this recipe and send a piece to your sister” I just laughed! You may notice I have a very Jewish Mother. Anyways, the name of this cake is given due to it’s great flavor and texture. It’s not cakey like but has the texture of a Cheesecake.

I would say it’s a mix between a flan and cheesecake because it’s not crumbly, it’s smooth and soft but firmer than a flan.. I know it sounds weird, so you have to try it and then you’ll see.

Making this Slow Cooker Coconut Cake it’s similar to making a 3 leches. Simply bake, make the “milk” part and just dump it right on the warm cake.

Then enjoy. Here’s a visual step by step process using the slow cooker. The same would apply if you’re making it in the oven. Keep in mind that I have a small slow cooker (4 quarts) so you may have to adjust the cooking time to yours.

The best way to bake in your slow cooker is to spray it with nonstick spray and then line it with parchment paper. Spray the paper as well and dump in the cake batter.

Cover with 2-3 paper towels and place the lid. The paper towels will keep the condensation that forms on the lid to fall back of the cake. Yuck! Nobody likes a mushy top. Hope you enjoy this Coconut Cake Recipe!

Slow Cooker Chocolate Self-Saucing Pudding

I have been making this slow cooker version for years, I love being able to turn it on while I prepare other things and just let the slow cooker do its thing.

Making desserts in the slow cooker is a little different to dinners. With main meals you can turn them on and forget – especially with cuts of meat that need to become tender. With desserts you do need to keep an eye on them, especially the first time you make one.

The reason for this is all slow cookers vary so much, from the size, the age, the temperature and more!

With this recipe I recall the original recipe said to have it on high for 2 1/2 hours, personally in my slow cooker this only took 1 1/2 (a 6L Russell Hobbs). So be sure to check yours after about 1 1/2 hours – you will know it is done once the cake part is cooked – a knife inserted helps you to tell, as does not being able to jiggle the cake bit!

The ingredients are easy pantry basics, if you are a regular baker you will have these things on hand already! They are the same ingredients for my oven baked Chocolate Self Saucing Pudding, and you can find that version here

I love recipes where the techniques are nice and simple, means you can get the kids in the kitchen too if you need! In this case it is a matter of combining the dry ingredients, then adding in the wet. Once you have done that place the mixture into the bowl of your slow cooker and spread gently

Then you sprinkle over the top the second measure of brown sugar and cocoa, this along with the boiling water is the magic that makes the divine chocolate sauce!

Then you pop the lid on and carry on with what you need to get done, you will begin to smell it as it gets closer to being done, but do check regularly after 1 1/2 hours. The cake part is light and moist and the sauce is thick and rich. This is a dessert you will love time and time again – especially as it is so easy!

I would love to know in the comments below what your favourite slow cooker desserts are? I will be sharing more of mine over the coming months. If you love this recipe check in to see more desserts over on my Dessert Page

Slow Cooker Nutella Cupcakes Are What We&rsquoll Be Baking This Weekend

Is it just me, or is everyone&rsquos slow cooker bringing them so much joy right now? Whether we&rsquore using them to make healthy dinners, or tasty bakes &ndash these guys are doing some great work at the minute.

People have been making some great cakes in their slow cookers recently, including this banana bread and this three-ingredient choc chip cake. But have you tried making cupcakes in your slow cooker yet? Because you definitely should. Especially if those cupcakes are Nutella cupcakes.

We came across this tasty-looking recipe on the Crockpot/Slow Cooker Recipes & Tips Facebook page when it was posted by admin Qasim Saeed.

Alongside photos of his dreamy cupcakes, Qasim wrote: &ldquoFirst time baking Nutella cupcakes in the slow cooker, Really nice and fluffy.

&ldquoI&rsquove always baked cakes in the oven but thought I&rsquod give the slow cooker a go&hellip They are absolutely amazing! I preheated the slow cooker for about 15 minutes. My slow cooker seems to cook [things] quickly, so keep an eye on them. I lifted the lid slightly a few times to check on them.

I mean, can you think of anything better than a fluffy Nutella cupcake topped with creamy Nutella icing? Well, actually, one thing that might be better is a fluffy Nutella cupcake topped with creamy Nutella icing, all washed down with a whipped Nutella milkshake.
