How do I prepare the Jaffa cake recipe?

To start we prepare the countertop:

For the cream we put 600ml of milk to boil, when it is hot we add the sugar. Separately mix the starch (in my case pudding powder) with the remaining cold milk and add to the hot milk. Stir until it thickens and then let it cool covered with a plastic wrap so as not to make a puddle on top.

When the cream is cold, add the butter at room temperature, cut into cubes and mix until incorporated.
